Free up Adobe Premiere Rush storage
Premiere Rush keeps projects, preview files, and export leftovers on this phone. Adobe is moving mobile editing into Premiere on iPhone and Android, and into Adobe Express. If Rush is still installed, the local project pile is what fills storage. There is no in-app cache cleaner.
See how much space Premiere Rush is using
iPhone
- Open the iPhone Settings app.
- Tap General > iPhone Storage.
- Tap Premiere Rush.
Android
- Open your phone Settings > Apps (or Apps and notifications).
- Tap Premiere Rush.
- Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
The number is mostly project media and preview files on this phone, not your whole Creative Cloud quota.
Adobe moved mobile editing
Adobe stopped offering Premiere Rush in app stores on September 30, 2025. Installed copies can keep working for a while. New mobile work belongs in Premiere or Adobe Express. Export anything you still need from Rush before you switch or uninstall.
- Open Rush and go to the projects / home screen.
- Tap the gear if you need account or plan details (Adobe lists Settings on that screen).
- Export keepers to Photos or Files first.
Delete finished projects
Adobe Help says you free cloud and local media from Your Projects: tap the three dots under a project thumbnail, then turn sync off or delete the project. Deleting is permanent.
- Open the projects / home screen.
- Tap the three dots under a project you already exported.
- Choose Delete. If Rush still syncs that project, you may see Delete from device or Delete everywhere.
Creative Cloud sync was later dropped from Rush. Older projects can still leave preview and proxy files on the phone after sync is gone.
No in-app cache button
Adobe staff have said Rush has no way to clear preview, proxy, or cache files inside the app. Android Clear cache can drop temp files. It does not replace deleting finished projects.
Clear Premiere Rush cache on Android
- Open your phone Settings > Apps > Premiere Rush.
- Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
- Tap Clear cache.
Do not tap Clear storage / Clear data unless you mean to wipe Rush on this phone. Local projects that never synced are deleted.
iPhone does not offer a separate Premiere Rush cache button. Delete finished projects first, then offload the app in iPhone Storage if the system total stays high.
Reinstall the app if storage is still high
If you already cleaned media and Adobe Premiere Rush still looks huge, a fresh install can clear leftover cache and temp files that are hard to reach by hand.
- Export finished videos to Photos or Files first. Adobe says a reinstall is the way to drop leftover preview and cache files, and it also deletes unfinished local projects.
- Delete the app from your phone.
- Restart your phone.
- Install Adobe Premiere Rush again from the App Store or Google Play.
- Sign in and restore from backup if the app offers it.
This often frees a lot of space. You may need to download some media again after restore.
What to do next
After Adobe Premiere Rush is lighter, check your photo library for duplicates and similar shots. That is what Dedupo is for.
