Free up Alipay storage

Alipay caches mini-program files, bills you previewed, and chat images. Payments stay on your Alipay account. Keep the receipts you need. This page is cache only.

In the app

1. Open Alipay and tap Me.
2. Tap the gear (Settings).
3. Tap General > Storage management (some versions say Storage).

iPhone

1. Open iPhone Settings > General > iPhone Storage > Alipay.

Android

1. Open your phone Settings > Apps > Alipay > Storage.

Clear Alipay cache

Alipay’s own docs: Me > Settings > General > Storage management, then clear cache.

1. Open Storage management (steps above).
2. Tap Clear Alipay cache (wording can vary).
3. If Alipay offers a deeper clean (old notifications), pick a range only for items you do not need.

That drops mini-program and preview files. Bills and payments stay on the account. Do not delete receipts or tax records you still need. The account can show many of them again.

Bills and chat

Transaction history lives on the Alipay account. Chat photos for a dispute can sit in cache. Save anything you still need, then clear cache. PDFs you exported live in Files.

Clear Alipay cache on Android

1. Open your phone Settings > Apps > Alipay.
2. Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
3. Tap Clear cache.

Alipay docs treat phone Settings > clear data as equal to uninstall and reinstall. Do not tap Clear storage / Clear data unless you mean to reset Alipay on this phone. That signs you out. Money stays on the Alipay account.

iPhone does not offer a separate Alipay cache button. Use Me > Settings > General > Storage management, or offload the app in iPhone Storage if the system total stays high.

Reinstall the app if storage is still high

If you already cleaned media and Alipay still looks huge, a fresh install can clear leftover cache and temp files that are hard to reach by hand.

1. Balances and bills stay on your Alipay account. Sign in again after reinstall. You may need to confirm the device.
2. Delete the app from your phone.
3. Restart your phone.
4. Install Alipay again from the App Store or Google Play.
5. Sign in and restore from backup if the app offers it.

This often frees a lot of space. You may need to download some media again after restore.
