Free up app storage

Free up Any.do storage

Any.do tasks live in your Any.do account. This phone stores attachments you opened and a local cache. Any.do Help does not document an in-app cache button. Clearing cache does not delete synced lists.

See how much space Any.do is using

iPhone

  1. Open the iPhone Settings app.
  2. Tap General > iPhone Storage.
  3. Tap Any.do.

Android

  1. Open your phone Settings > Apps.
  2. Tap Any.do.
  3. Tap Storage or Storage and cache.

Attachments

Any.do Help: there is no central attachment library. Open the task. Files live only there. On mobile, tap the blue + to add a photo, voice note, or document. Tap the X on a file to remove it.

  1. Open a task that holds a large photo or PDF.
  2. Tap X only if you mean to delete that file from the task on every device.

Copies you downloaded to Files are separate. Clearing cache does not remove those.

Offline use is limited

Any.do Help: you can view and add items if the connection drops after the app is already open. Keep the app open until you are back online, then let it sync. Any.do does not keep a full offline database. Unsynced changes can be lost. Synced tasks stay in the account.

Archived tasks

Any.do Help: Settings > Archived Tasks. A huge archive can slow mobile sync. That is account data, not cache. Export from the web app before you tap Delete All.

Clear Any.do cache on Android

  1. Open your phone Settings > Apps > Any.do.
  2. Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
  3. Tap Clear cache.

Do not tap Clear storage / Clear data unless you mean to sign out. Unsynced edits on this phone can be lost. Synced tasks stay in the account.

iPhone does not offer a separate Any.do cache button. Offload the app in iPhone Storage if the system total stays high.

Reinstall the app if storage is still high

If you already cleaned media and Any.do still looks huge, a fresh install can clear leftover cache and temp files that are hard to reach by hand.

  1. Wait until the app finishes syncing. Tasks in your Any.do account stay. Attachments that never uploaded live only on this phone.
  2. Delete the app from your phone.
  3. Restart your phone.
  4. Install Any.do again from the App Store or Google Play.
  5. Sign in and restore from backup if the app offers it.

This often frees a lot of space. You may need to download some media again after restore.

What to do next

After Any.do is lighter, check your photo library for duplicates and similar shots. That is what Dedupo is for.
