Free up Asphalt 9 storage
Asphalt 9 (now also labeled Asphalt Legends in official help) keeps tracks, car models, and replay leftovers on the phone. Garage progress stays on your Gameloft ID after you link it. Official crash help documents Android cache clear. There is no in-app Free up Storage button.
See how much space Asphalt 9 is using
iPhone
- Open the iPhone Settings app.
- Tap General > iPhone Storage.
- Tap Asphalt 9 or Asphalt Legends.
Android
- Open your phone Settings > Apps (or Application Manager).
- Tap the Asphalt app.
- Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
Tracks, extra cars, and leftover replay files are usually the extra space.
Clear cache the way Gameloft documents
- Press Home, then open device Settings (or System Settings).
- Tap Application Manager or Apps.
- Tap the Asphalt app.
- Tap Force Stop, then Clear Cache.
- Reboot the device.
Those labels come from Gameloft's crash/freeze article. Official help does not list an in-app track or replay delete screen. Replay files, if the game keeps them locally, go away with cache or a reinstall.
Link Gameloft ID before you reset
- Open Asphalt and link a Gameloft ID.
- Use the same ID on another device if you want cross-save. Official help says progress syncs that way on most platforms, excluding PlayStation and Switch.
The garage stays on the Gameloft ID. Tracks and car assets download again after a cache clear.
Clear Asphalt 9 cache on Android
- Open your phone Settings > Apps > the Asphalt app.
- Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
- Tap Clear cache.
Do not tap Clear storage / Clear data unless you mean to reset Asphalt 9 on this phone. That signs you out. The garage stays on the Gameloft ID.
iPhone does not offer a separate Asphalt 9 cache button. Use the in-app steps on this page, or offload the app in iPhone Storage if the system total stays high.
Reinstall the app if storage is still high
If you already cleaned media and Asphalt 9 still looks huge, a fresh install can clear leftover cache and temp files that are hard to reach by hand.
- Link a Gameloft ID first. Garage progress stays on that account. Tracks, cars, and replay cache download again.
- Delete the app from your phone.
- Restart your phone.
- Install Asphalt 9 again from the App Store or Google Play.
- Sign in and restore from backup if the app offers it.
This often frees a lot of space. You may need to download some media again after restore.
What to do next
After Asphalt 9 is lighter, check your photo library for duplicates and similar shots. That is what Dedupo is for.
