Free up Badoo storage

Badoo caches encounter photos and chat images on this phone. Matches and the profile stay on Badoo. Photo cache and chat media are the local leftover.

iPhone

1. Open the iPhone Settings app.
2. Tap General > iPhone Storage.
3. Tap Badoo.

Android

1. Open your phone Settings > Apps (or Apps and notifications).
2. Tap Badoo.
3. Tap Storage or Storage and cache.

A long Chats tab plus lots of encounter photos is the usual reason Badoo looks large.

Photo cache

People you already passed still leave photos on the phone. Badoo Support tells Android users to open Settings > Apps > Badoo > Storage > Clear Cache. Matches stay. Pictures load again when you open a profile.

Chat media

1. Open a chat that has photos or gifts with images.
2. Save anything you want to Photos before you reset the app.
3. Unmatch or report only if you also want that person gone from Badoo, not just from cache.

Badoo Support says you cannot delete or unsend a single message. Clearing cache is not the same as deleting a match. Chat photos may need to load again from Badoo.

Clear Badoo cache on Android

1. Open your phone Settings > Apps > Badoo.
2. Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
3. Tap Clear cache.

Do not tap Clear storage / Clear data unless you mean to reset Badoo on this phone. Badoo Support says Clear Data will not delete your account. It does sign you out. Local chat media can need to reload.

iPhone does not offer a separate Badoo cache button. Use the in-app steps on this page, or offload the app in iPhone Storage if the system total stays high.

Reinstall the app if storage is still high

If you already cleaned media and Badoo still looks huge, a fresh install can clear leftover cache and temp files that are hard to reach by hand.

1. Matches stay on your Badoo account. Save chat photos you care about first. Photo cache downloads again as you browse.
2. Delete the app from your phone.
3. Restart your phone.
4. Install Badoo again from the App Store or Google Play.
5. Sign in and restore from backup if the app offers it.

This often frees a lot of space. You may need to download some media again after restore.
