Free up Baidu Maps storage

Baidu Maps gets large from offline city packs, street imagery cache, and navigation leftovers. Saved places stay with your Baidu account if you are signed in. Clearing cache does not delete those cloud favorites. Offline packs on this phone will need a new download later.

See how much space Baidu Maps is using

iPhone

Open the iPhone Settings app.
Tap General > iPhone Storage.
Tap Baidu Maps.

Android

Open your phone Settings > Apps.
Tap Baidu Maps.
Tap Storage or Storage and cache.

Delete offline maps

Open Baidu Maps and go to the menu / Settings.
Open offline maps / downloaded cities (often Offline maps or Download offline map).
Delete city packs you do not need.

Full city packages can be well over a gigabyte. Start with cities you already left.

Clear map and street cache

Open Baidu Maps Settings.
Look for clear cache, storage, or street view cache.
Clear cache. Leave downloaded offline cities unless you also want those gone.

Street cache rebuilds as you browse. Offline city packs do not come back until you download them.

Clear Baidu Maps cache on Android

Open your phone Settings > Apps > Baidu Maps.
Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
Tap Clear cache.

Do not tap Clear storage / Clear data unless you mean to sign out and reset Baidu Maps, including offline packs on this phone.

iPhone does not offer a separate Baidu Maps cache button. Delete offline maps first, then offload or reinstall if the total stays high.

Reinstall the app if storage is still high

If you already cleaned media and Baidu Maps still looks huge, a fresh install can clear leftover cache and temp files that are hard to reach by hand.

Saved places stay in your Baidu account if you are signed in. Offline maps and street cache on this phone will need to be downloaded again.
Delete the app from your phone.
Restart your phone.
Install Baidu Maps again from the App Store or Google Play.
Sign in and restore from backup if the app offers it.

This often frees a lot of space. You may need to download some media again after restore.
