Free up BeReal storage

BeReal stores your daily photos in Memories on your account and can also save copies to Photos or Gallery. Cache from other people's BeReals adds more on this phone. BeReal does not have a WhatsApp-style Free up Storage screen.

See how much space BeReal is using

iPhone

Open the iPhone Settings app.
Tap General > iPhone Storage.
Tap BeReal.

Android

Open your phone Settings > Apps (or Apps and notifications).
Tap BeReal.
Tap Storage or Storage and cache.

Stop saving copies to Photos or Gallery

Open BeReal and go to your profile > Settings.
Turn off save to camera roll / Photos if that toggle is shown.
When you share a BeReal, skip Save unless you want a second copy.

Copies already in Photos or Gallery stay until you delete them, including Recently Deleted / Trash. Memories inside BeReal are account photos, not the same files as Camera Roll.

Delete Memories you do not need

Open your BeReal profile and open Memories (your past BeReals).
Open a day you do not want to keep.
Delete it if BeReal offers delete on that BeReal.

That removes it from your BeReal account. It does not always remove a Camera Roll copy. Check Photos too.

Clear BeReal cache on Android

Open your phone Settings > Apps > BeReal.
Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
Tap Clear cache.

Do not tap Clear storage / Clear data unless you mean to reset BeReal. That signs you out.

iPhone does not offer a separate BeReal cache button. Offload or delete the app in iPhone Storage if the system total stays high.

Reinstall the app if storage is still high

If you already cleaned media and BeReal still looks huge, a fresh install can clear leftover cache and temp files that are hard to reach by hand.

Memories stay on your BeReal account if they already synced. Check Photos for extra copies.
Delete the app from your phone.
Restart your phone.
Install BeReal again from the App Store or Google Play.
Sign in and restore from backup if the app offers it.

This often frees a lot of space. You may need to download some media again after restore.
