Free up Bolt storage

Bolt caches map tiles, driver photos, and restaurant images if you use Bolt Food. Rides, scooters, and food orders stay on your Bolt account. Maps and chat files are the local leftover.

iPhone

1. Open the iPhone Settings app.
2. Tap General > iPhone Storage.
3. Tap Bolt.

Android

1. Open your phone Settings > Apps (or Apps and notifications).
2. Tap Bolt.
3. Tap Storage or Storage and cache.

A new city or a week of food browsing is usually why Bolt looks larger than it did last month.

Maps and store photo cache

Bolt does not give a WhatsApp-style storage screen. Android Clear cache drops map tiles and restaurant photos. Past trips stay in your Bolt Activity list.

Chat files

Driver or courier chat can include photos. Save anything you need for a dispute, then clear cache. Receipts stay on the account.

Clear Bolt cache on Android

1. Open your phone Settings > Apps > Bolt.
2. Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
3. Tap Clear cache.

Do not tap Clear storage / Clear data unless you mean to reset Bolt on this phone. That signs you out. History stays on the account.

iPhone does not offer a separate Bolt cache button. Use the in-app steps on this page, or offload the app in iPhone Storage if the system total stays high.

Reinstall the app if storage is still high

If you already cleaned media and Bolt still looks huge, a fresh install can clear leftover cache and temp files that are hard to reach by hand.

1. Rides, food orders, and payment methods stay on your Bolt account. Sign in again after reinstall.
2. Delete the app from your phone.
3. Restart your phone.
4. Install Bolt again from the App Store or Google Play.
5. Sign in and restore from backup if the app offers it.

This often frees a lot of space. You may need to download some media again after restore.
