Free up Booking.com storage
Booking.com caches hotel photos, neighborhood maps, and Genius banners. Reservations stay on your Booking.com account. Hotel photo cache is the local leftover.
See how much space Booking.com is using
iPhone
- Open the iPhone Settings app.
- Tap General > iPhone Storage.
- Tap Booking.com.
Android
- Open your phone Settings > Apps (or Apps and notifications).
- Tap Booking.com.
- Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
Saved lists still store thumbnails on the phone.
Clear hotel photo cache
- Open Booking.com and open your profile.
- Open Settings and tap Clear cache if you see it.
- Otherwise use Android Clear cache.
Bookings stay on the account. Confirmation emails are in Mail, not in this cache.
Clear Booking.com cache on Android
- Open your phone Settings > Apps > Booking.com.
- Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
- Tap Clear cache.
Do not tap Clear storage / Clear data unless you mean to reset Booking.com on this phone. That signs you out. Trips stay on the account.
iPhone does not offer a separate Booking.com cache button. Use the in-app steps on this page, or offload the app in iPhone Storage if the system total stays high.
Reinstall the app if storage is still high
If you already cleaned media and Booking.com still looks huge, a fresh install can clear leftover cache and temp files that are hard to reach by hand.
- Reservations stay on your Booking.com account. Sign in again after reinstall.
- Delete the app from your phone.
- Restart your phone.
- Install Booking.com again from the App Store or Google Play.
- Sign in and restore from backup if the app offers it.
This often frees a lot of space. You may need to download some media again after restore.
What to do next
After Booking.com is lighter, check your photo library for duplicates and similar shots. That is what Dedupo is for.
