Free up Calm storage
Calm stores downloaded meditations, Sleep Stories, music, and background scenes on this phone. Your history and subscription stay on the Calm account. Offline packs are the large local part. Calm Help documents Downloads, not a WhatsApp-style Free up Storage list.
See how much space Calm is using
- Open Calm and tap Profile.
- Tap the gear (Settings).
- Tap Downloads to see categories you saved offline.
iPhone
- Open iPhone Settings > General > iPhone Storage > Calm.
Android
- Open your phone Settings > Apps > Calm > Storage or Storage and cache.
Sleep Stories plus scenes can outgrow the app binary. Profile > Library > My Downloads lists what will play offline.
Delete downloaded sessions
- Open Profile > Settings > Downloads.
- Tap a category such as Audio or Scenes.
- Confirm. Calm Help says this deletes every download in that category.
You cannot delete one Sleep Story from this screen. The title stays in your Calm library. You can download it again later.
Download only what you need next
- Open a meditation, Masterclass, or Daily and tap the cloud download icon.
- For music or Sleep Stories, start playback, wait for the duration bar to fill, then tap the cloud icon.
Calm Help documents those two download paths. Keep one nightly story offline instead of the whole catalog.
Clear Calm cache on Android
- Open your phone Settings > Apps > Calm.
- Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
- Tap Clear cache.
Do not tap Clear storage / Clear data unless you mean to reset Calm on this phone. That signs you out. History stays on the account. Offline downloads must be saved again.
iPhone does not offer a separate Calm cache button. Delete Downloads inside Calm first, or offload the app in iPhone Storage if the system total stays high.
Reinstall the app if storage is still high
If you already cleaned media and Calm still looks huge, a fresh install can clear leftover cache and temp files that are hard to reach by hand.
- History and your subscription stay on the Calm account. Downloaded sessions and scenes do not. Download favorites again if you still want them offline.
- Delete the app from your phone.
- Restart your phone.
- Install Calm again from the App Store or Google Play.
- Sign in and restore from backup if the app offers it.
This often frees a lot of space. You may need to download some media again after restore.
What to do next
After Calm is lighter, check your photo library for duplicates and similar shots. That is what Dedupo is for.
