Free up Clash of Clans storage
Clash of Clans keeps a village cache, attack replays, and seasonal art on the device. The village itself lives on Supercell servers once you use a Supercell ID. The leftover on the phone is mostly cache.
See how much space Clash of Clans is using
iPhone
- Open the iPhone Settings app.
- Tap General > iPhone Storage.
- Tap Clash of Clans.
Android
- Open your phone Settings > Apps (or Apps and notifications).
- Tap Clash of Clans.
- Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
This game is rarely huge compared with map-heavy shooters. If the number is large, it is cache and the app binary.
What is actually on the phone
Buildings, troops, and gems are in the cloud. Replays and downloaded event art sit locally. Clash of Clans does not offer a full in-app resource cleaner like PUBG Mobile.
Use Android Clear cache first. That does not move your village.
Confirm Supercell ID before you reset
- Open Clash of Clans and tap the gear.
- Open Connected accounts or Supercell ID.
- Make sure you can sign in with that ID on another device or after reinstall.
Without a Supercell ID, a village can stay stuck on this phone.
Clear Clash of Clans cache on Android
- Open your phone Settings > Apps > Clash of Clans.
- Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
- Tap Clear cache.
Do not tap Clear storage / Clear data unless you mean to reset Clash of Clans on this phone. That signs you out. The village stays on your Supercell ID.
iPhone does not offer a separate Clash of Clans cache button. Use the in-app steps on this page, or offload the app in iPhone Storage if the system total stays high.
Reinstall the app if storage is still high
If you already cleaned media and Clash of Clans still looks huge, a fresh install can clear leftover cache and temp files that are hard to reach by hand.
- Confirm your Supercell ID first. The village is saved on Supercell servers after that. Cache and replays download again.
- Delete the app from your phone.
- Restart your phone.
- Install Clash of Clans again from the App Store or Google Play.
- Sign in and restore from backup if the app offers it.
This often frees a lot of space. You may need to download some media again after restore.
What to do next
After Clash of Clans is lighter, check your photo library for duplicates and similar shots. That is what Dedupo is for.
