Free up app storage

Free up Craft storage

Craft documents live in your Craft space. This phone stores offline docs, Keep on Device folders, and attachment cache. Craft Help does not document a WhatsApp-style Free up Storage screen. Clearing cache does not delete space documents.

See how much space Craft is using

iPhone

  1. Open the iPhone Settings app.
  2. Tap General > iPhone Storage.
  3. Tap Craft.

Android

  1. Open your phone Settings > Apps.
  2. Tap Craft.
  3. Tap Storage or Storage and cache.

Keep on Device folders (iPhone)

Craft Help: on iPhone you can store a top-level folder and its images locally.

  1. Open Craft and find a top-level folder in the sidebar.
  2. Tap the three-dot menu (⋯).
  3. Turn off Keep On Device for folders you do not need offline.

Documents stay in the space. Only the local images and files are released. Nested folders download with the parent. The switch is per device.

Offline mode on Android

Craft Help: Android offline mode is under Settings > Advanced > Offline Mode. Documents save locally as you open them. If storage runs low, older cached docs can be dropped. Reopen them online to get them back. Wait for unsynced edits to upload before you clear data.

Attachments stay in the space

Images and files inside a document are Craft data. Deleting a block or emptying Craft Trash removes that file from the space after the recovery window. That is permanent for the account, not a cache clear. Copies you exported to Files are separate.

Clear Craft cache on Android

  1. Open your phone Settings > Apps > Craft.
  2. Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
  3. Tap Clear cache.

Do not tap Clear storage / Clear data unless you mean to sign out. Unsynced edits on this phone can be lost. Synced documents stay in the Craft space.

iPhone does not offer a separate Craft cache button. Turn off Keep On Device first, then offload the app in iPhone Storage if the system total stays high.

Reinstall the app if storage is still high

If you already cleaned media and Craft still looks huge, a fresh install can clear leftover cache and temp files that are hard to reach by hand.

  1. Wait until offline edits finish syncing. Documents in your Craft space stay. Keep On Device folders download again after you turn the switch back on.
  2. Delete the app from your phone.
  3. Restart your phone.
  4. Install Craft again from the App Store or Google Play.
  5. Sign in and restore from backup if the app offers it.

This often frees a lot of space. You may need to download some media again after restore.

What to do next

After Craft is lighter, check your photo library for duplicates and similar shots. That is what Dedupo is for.
