Free up app storage

Free up DeepSeek storage

DeepSeek stores chats on your account. The app on this phone is mostly code plus cache, and any files or screenshots you saved yourself. Clearing cache does not delete cloud chats.

See how much space DeepSeek is using

iPhone

  1. Open the iPhone Settings app.
  2. Tap General > iPhone Storage.
  3. Tap DeepSeek.

Android

  1. Open your phone Settings > Apps.
  2. Tap DeepSeek.
  3. Tap Storage or Storage and cache.

DeepSeek does not publish a per-chat storage list. If the total is large, treat it as cache and leftover downloads, not as a local copy of every message.

Remove files you exported

  1. Open Files or Downloads and delete DeepSeek exports, code files, or screenshots you do not need.
  2. In Photos or Gallery, delete saved images, then empty Recently Deleted / Trash.

Clear DeepSeek cache on Android

  1. Open your phone Settings > Apps > DeepSeek.
  2. Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
  3. Tap Clear cache.

Do not tap Clear storage / Clear data unless you mean to sign out and reset the app. History comes back after you sign in.

iPhone has no separate DeepSeek cache button. Offload in iPhone Storage or reinstall if the size stays high.

Reinstall the app if storage is still high

If you already cleaned media and DeepSeek still looks huge, a fresh install can clear leftover cache and temp files that are hard to reach by hand.

  1. Chats stay in your DeepSeek account. Save anything you only have on this phone. Reinstalling does not delete cloud chats.
  2. Delete the app from your phone.
  3. Restart your phone.
  4. Install DeepSeek again from the App Store or Google Play.
  5. Sign in and restore from backup if the app offers it.

This often frees a lot of space. You may need to download some media again after restore.

What to do next

After DeepSeek is lighter, check your photo library for duplicates and similar shots. That is what Dedupo is for.
