Free up app storage

Free up Deezer storage

Deezer stores offline albums, playlists, and a Flow cache so tracks start quickly. Loved tracks and playlists stay on your account. Removing a download only deletes the copy on this phone.

See how much space Deezer is using

iPhone

  1. Open the iPhone Settings app.
  2. Tap General > iPhone Storage.
  3. Tap Deezer.

Android

  1. Open your phone Settings > Apps.
  2. Tap Deezer.
  3. Tap Storage or Storage and cache.

Deezer does not have a WhatsApp-style storage screen. Open Music / Library and look at Offline or downloaded playlists.

Remove offline music

  1. Open Deezer and go to your library (Music).
  2. Open Offline, or open a playlist / album that shows a download icon.
  3. Turn the download / offline icon off.

Loved tracks and playlists stay in your library. Only the offline files leave this phone.

Change Offline settings

  1. Open Deezer and tap your profile or the menu.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Open Offline, storage, or audio quality.
  4. Clear cache if that button is shown, lower download quality, and turn off automatic offline for Flow if you do not need it.

Flow can keep a rotating cache of recommended tracks. That is smaller than a full downloaded library, but it grows if you listen a lot.

Clear Deezer cache on Android

  1. Open your phone Settings > Apps > Deezer.
  2. Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
  3. Tap Clear cache.

Do not tap Clear storage / Clear data unless you mean to reset Deezer on this phone. That signs you out and removes local downloads. Loved tracks and playlists stay on your account.

iPhone does not offer a separate Deezer cache button. Remove offline items in the library, or offload the app in iPhone Storage if the system total stays high.

Reinstall the app if storage is still high

If you already cleaned media and Deezer still looks huge, a fresh install can clear leftover cache and temp files that are hard to reach by hand.

  1. Downloads will need to be re-downloaded after you sign in. Your account keeps Loved tracks, playlists, and Flow history.
  2. Delete the app from your phone.
  3. Restart your phone.
  4. Install Deezer again from the App Store or Google Play.
  5. Sign in and restore from backup if the app offers it.

This often frees a lot of space. You may need to download some media again after restore.

What to do next

After Deezer is lighter, check your photo library for duplicates and similar shots. That is what Dedupo is for.
