Free up eBay storage
eBay caches search photos, listing videos, and watch-list thumbnails. Bids, offers, and orders stay on your eBay account. Image cache is what you can drop.
See how much space eBay is using
iPhone
- Open the iPhone Settings app.
- Tap General > iPhone Storage.
- Tap eBay.
Android
- Open your phone Settings > Apps (or Apps and notifications).
- Tap eBay.
- Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
The number is mostly product photos, listing videos, and browse cache on this phone. Orders stay on your account.
Clear product photos and video cache
eBay keeps listing images and product videos so the feed scrolls smoothly. That cache is safe to drop. Saved items, orders, and your cart stay on the account.
- Open eBay and tap your profile or the person icon.
- Open Settings (or Account > Settings).
- Look for Clear cache, Storage, or Free up space.
- Confirm the clear if eBay shows a size.
If there is no in-app button, use Android Clear cache below. The next browse will download images again.
Selling photos
Draft listing photos you already uploaded live on eBay. Copies left in Photos or Files stay there until you delete them there. Clearing eBay cache does not remove Camera Roll shots.
Clear eBay cache on Android
- Open your phone Settings > Apps > eBay.
- Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
- Tap Clear cache.
Do not tap Clear storage / Clear data unless you mean to reset eBay on this phone. That signs you out. Bids and orders stay on the eBay account.
iPhone does not offer a separate eBay cache button. Use the in-app steps on this page, or offload the app in iPhone Storage if the system total stays high.
Reinstall the app if storage is still high
If you already cleaned media and eBay still looks huge, a fresh install can clear leftover cache and temp files that are hard to reach by hand.
- Orders, saved items, and your account stay with the store. You only need to sign in again after reinstall.
- Delete the app from your phone.
- Restart your phone.
- Install eBay again from the App Store or Google Play.
- Sign in and restore from backup if the app offers it.
This often frees a lot of space. You may need to download some media again after restore.
What to do next
After eBay is lighter, check your photo library for duplicates and similar shots. That is what Dedupo is for.
