Free up ESPN storage

The ESPN app keeps a Watch cache for live games, plus highlights, articles, and any titles you download. Your account and favorites stay on ESPN. Clearing cache or removing a download only deletes files on this phone.

See how much space ESPN is using

iPhone

Open the iPhone Settings app.
Tap General > iPhone Storage.
Tap ESPN.

Android

Open your phone Settings > Apps.
Tap ESPN.
Tap Storage or Storage and cache.

ESPN does not have a WhatsApp-style storage screen. Check Watch and any Downloads section, then clear cache after a long live game.

Remove downloads and saved highlights

Open ESPN and look under Watch, your profile, or Downloads if that section exists.
Remove downloaded games or shows you do not need offline.

Highlights autoplay can leave extra cache. Live games you already finished are usually cache, not a named download.

Clear ESPN cache on Android

Open your phone Settings > Apps > ESPN.
Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
Tap Clear cache.

Do not tap Clear storage / Clear data unless you mean to reset ESPN on this phone. That signs you out and removes local files. Favorites stay on your account.

iPhone does not offer a separate ESPN cache button. Offload or delete the app in iPhone Storage if the system total stays high.

Reinstall the app if storage is still high

If you already cleaned media and ESPN still looks huge, a fresh install can clear leftover cache and temp files that are hard to reach by hand.

Downloads and Watch cache will need to be fetched again after you sign in. Your account keeps favorites and history.
Delete the app from your phone.
Restart your phone.
Install ESPN again from the App Store or Google Play.
Sign in and restore from backup if the app offers it.

This often frees a lot of space. You may need to download some media again after restore.
