Free up app storage

Free up Flipkart storage

Flipkart stores product photos, review videos, and SuperCoin / grocery banners on the phone. Orders and Plus benefits stay on your Flipkart account. Cache is the local part.

See how much space Flipkart is using

iPhone

  1. Open the iPhone Settings app.
  2. Tap General > iPhone Storage.
  3. Tap Flipkart.

Android

  1. Open your phone Settings > Apps (or Apps and notifications).
  2. Tap Flipkart.
  3. Tap Storage or Storage and cache.

The number is mostly product photos, listing videos, and browse cache on this phone. Orders stay on your account.

Clear product photos and video cache

Flipkart keeps listing images and product videos so the feed scrolls smoothly. That cache is safe to drop. Saved items, orders, and your cart stay on the account.

  1. Open Flipkart and tap your profile or the person icon.
  2. Open Settings (or Account > Settings).
  3. Look for Clear cache, Storage, or Free up space.
  4. Confirm the clear if Flipkart shows a size.

If there is no in-app button, use Android Clear cache below. The next browse will download images again.

Grocery and video leftovers

Flipkart Grocery and Shopsy-style video feeds leave extra clips. Clearing cache drops them. It does not cancel an order.

Clear Flipkart cache on Android

  1. Open your phone Settings > Apps > Flipkart.
  2. Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
  3. Tap Clear cache.

Do not tap Clear storage / Clear data unless you mean to reset Flipkart on this phone. That signs you out. Orders stay on the Flipkart account.

iPhone does not offer a separate Flipkart cache button. Use the in-app steps on this page, or offload the app in iPhone Storage if the system total stays high.

Reinstall the app if storage is still high

If you already cleaned media and Flipkart still looks huge, a fresh install can clear leftover cache and temp files that are hard to reach by hand.

  1. Orders, saved items, and your account stay with the store. You only need to sign in again after reinstall.
  2. Delete the app from your phone.
  3. Restart your phone.
  4. Install Flipkart again from the App Store or Google Play.
  5. Sign in and restore from backup if the app offers it.

This often frees a lot of space. You may need to download some media again after restore.

What to do next

After Flipkart is lighter, check your photo library for duplicates and similar shots. That is what Dedupo is for.
