Free up app storage

Free up Free Fire storage

Free Fire keeps maps, skins, voice packs, and extra graphics on the phone. A repair or cache clear can drop several gigabytes without touching your Garena account, rank, or inventory.

See how much space Free Fire is using

iPhone

  1. Open the iPhone Settings app.
  2. Tap General > iPhone Storage.
  3. Tap Free Fire.

Android

  1. Open your phone Settings > Apps (or Apps and notifications).
  2. Tap Free Fire.
  3. Tap Storage or Storage and cache.

Most of the size is downloaded resources, not your player profile.

Repair or clear cache in Free Fire

  1. Open Free Fire and tap the gear (Settings).
  2. Open the General or Help tab if you see one.
  3. Tap Repair only if files are broken. Repair re-downloads resources and does not free space.
  4. Tap Clear cache (some versions say Clear residual files) to remove leftover downloads.

Cache and leftover update files are safe to remove. Your account, diamonds, and loadouts stay in the cloud.

Remove extra download resources

  1. Open Free Fire Settings.
  2. Find Download, Resources, or Graphics.
  3. Turn off HD resources or extra packs you do not use (high textures, extra voice, unused modes).

Those packs come back if you turn them on later on Wi-Fi. Keep the base game files.

Clear Free Fire cache on Android

  1. Open your phone Settings > Apps > Free Fire.
  2. Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
  3. Tap Clear cache.

Do not tap Clear storage / Clear data unless you mean to reset Free Fire on this phone. That signs you out. Rank and inventory stay on your Free Fire account.

iPhone does not offer a separate Free Fire cache button. Use the in-app steps on this page, or offload the app in iPhone Storage if the system total stays high.

Reinstall the app if storage is still high

If you already cleaned media and Free Fire still looks huge, a fresh install can clear leftover cache and temp files that are hard to reach by hand.

  1. Sign in to the account you use for this game first. Progress is usually saved in the cloud and comes back after you sign in. Cached maps and extra resources download again when you play.
  2. Delete the app from your phone.
  3. Restart your phone.
  4. Install Free Fire again from the App Store or Google Play.
  5. Sign in and restore from backup if the app offers it.

This often frees a lot of space. You may need to download some media again after restore.

What to do next

After Free Fire is lighter, check your photo library for duplicates and similar shots. That is what Dedupo is for.
