Free up app storage

Free up Genshin Impact storage

Genshin Impact is huge because scene files, voice-over packs, and update leftovers stay on the phone. Character progress, Primogems, and inventory stay on your HoYoverse account. Use Settings > Resources. Do not delete the game folder by guesswork.

See how much space Genshin Impact is using

iPhone

  1. Open the iPhone Settings app.
  2. Tap General > iPhone Storage.
  3. Tap Genshin Impact.

Android

  1. Open your phone Settings > Apps (or Apps and notifications).
  2. Tap Genshin Impact.
  3. Tap Storage or Storage and cache.

Voice packs and unused region resources are the first things to drop.

Manage resources in Genshin Impact

  1. Open Genshin Impact and tap the Paimon menu.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Open Resources (some versions say Resource Download).
  4. Delete voice-over languages you do not use.
  5. Remove leftover pre-download or update packages if Genshin lists them.

This is the real in-app cleanup. Resources you still play will download again when needed.

Repair vs delete

Repair checks files and re-downloads broken ones. Use it for crashes or missing scenery. It does not free space. To shrink the install, delete unused voice packs and old pre-downloads, then clear Android cache.

Clear Genshin Impact cache on Android

  1. Open your phone Settings > Apps > Genshin Impact.
  2. Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
  3. Tap Clear cache.

Do not tap Clear storage / Clear data unless you mean to reset Genshin Impact on this phone. That signs you out. Cloud progress stays on the HoYoverse account. The next launch will download resources again.

iPhone does not offer a separate Genshin Impact cache button. Use the in-app steps on this page, or offload the app in iPhone Storage if the system total stays high.

Reinstall the app if storage is still high

If you already cleaned media and Genshin Impact still looks huge, a fresh install can clear leftover cache and temp files that are hard to reach by hand.

  1. Sign in to HoYoverse first. Characters, wishes, and inventory stay on the account. Voice packs and scenes download again as you play.
  2. Delete the app from your phone.
  3. Restart your phone.
  4. Install Genshin Impact again from the App Store or Google Play.
  5. Sign in and restore from backup if the app offers it.

This often frees a lot of space. You may need to download some media again after restore.

What to do next

After Genshin Impact is lighter, check your photo library for duplicates and similar shots. That is what Dedupo is for.
