Free up Grubhub storage
Grubhub caches restaurant photos, menu images, and Plus promos. Orders and saved addresses stay on your Grubhub account. Store media is the local leftover.
See how much space Grubhub is using
iPhone
- Open the iPhone Settings app.
- Tap General > iPhone Storage.
- Tap Grubhub.
Android
- Open your phone Settings > Apps (or Apps and notifications).
- Tap Grubhub.
- Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
Restaurant and grocery photos add up after a few months of browsing.
Clear store media cache
Grubhub does not always show an in-app cache button. Use Android Clear cache. Past orders stay in the account.
Chat files
Driver chat can include photos. Save anything you need for a missing-item claim, then clear cache. Receipts stay on the account.
Clear Grubhub cache on Android
- Open your phone Settings > Apps > Grubhub.
- Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
- Tap Clear cache.
Do not tap Clear storage / Clear data unless you mean to reset Grubhub on this phone. That signs you out. Order history stays on the account.
iPhone does not offer a separate Grubhub cache button. Use the in-app steps on this page, or offload the app in iPhone Storage if the system total stays high.
Reinstall the app if storage is still high
If you already cleaned media and Grubhub still looks huge, a fresh install can clear leftover cache and temp files that are hard to reach by hand.
- Orders, Plus, and payment methods stay on your Grubhub account. Sign in again after reinstall.
- Delete the app from your phone.
- Restart your phone.
- Install Grubhub again from the App Store or Google Play.
- Sign in and restore from backup if the app offers it.
This often frees a lot of space. You may need to download some media again after restore.
What to do next
After Grubhub is lighter, check your photo library for duplicates and similar shots. That is what Dedupo is for.
