Free up happn storage

happn caches crossing photos from people you passed on the map and media from Crush chats. Crushes and the account stay on happn. Photo cache and chat media are the local pile.

iPhone

1. Open the iPhone Settings app.
2. Tap General > iPhone Storage.
3. Tap happn.

Android

1. Open your phone Settings > Apps (or Apps and notifications).
2. Tap happn.
3. Tap Storage or Storage and cache.

A dense map day in a large city can leave a lot of profile photos on the phone.

Photo cache

Crossings you already scrolled past still leave photos on the phone. happn Help does not document a WhatsApp-style Free up Storage screen. Android Clear cache removes those copies. Crushes stay. Pictures load again when you open a profile.

Chat media

1. Open Messages and open a Crush chat that has photos or voice notes.
2. Save anything you want to Photos before you reset the app.
3. To remove the thread from your inbox, swipe the conversation left on Messages, or open it and tap the three dots at the top right.

happn Help stores Crush messages on happn servers. Deleting a conversation is not the same as clearing cache. Save chat photos first if you still want them.

Clear happn cache on Android

1. Open your phone Settings > Apps > happn.
2. Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
3. Tap Clear cache.

Do not tap Clear storage / Clear data unless you mean to reset happn on this phone. That signs you out. Crushes stay. Local chat media can need to reload.

iPhone does not offer a separate happn cache button. Use the in-app steps on this page, or offload the app in iPhone Storage if the system total stays high.

Reinstall the app if storage is still high

If you already cleaned media and happn still looks huge, a fresh install can clear leftover cache and temp files that are hard to reach by hand.

1. Crushes stay on your happn account. Save chat photos you care about first. Crossing photos download again as you walk.
2. Delete the app from your phone.
3. Restart your phone.
4. Install happn again from the App Store or Google Play.
5. Sign in and restore from backup if the app offers it.

This often frees a lot of space. You may need to download some media again after restore.
