Free up Headspace storage
Headspace stores courses and singles you download for offline listening. Progress stays on your Headspace account. Downloaded sessions are the large local part. Headspace Help documents a download manager, not a WhatsApp-style Free up Storage list.
See how much space Headspace is using
- Open Headspace and tap Profile.
- Tap the gear (Settings).
- Tap Downloads to open the download manager.
iPhone
- Open iPhone Settings > General > iPhone Storage > Headspace.
Android
- Open your phone Settings > Apps > Headspace > Storage or Storage and cache.
Headspace Help says storage fills quickly when many courses are downloaded. Today's Headspace, Wake Up, and Sleepcasts cannot be saved offline.
Delete downloaded sessions
- Open Profile > Settings > Downloads.
- Review courses and singles you already finished.
- Delete the ones you do not need offline.
The course stays in your Headspace library. Only the local audio leaves this phone. You can download it again later.
Download a course only when you need it
- Open the course or session.
- Open the info / full detail page if you see the i symbol.
- Turn on download sessions.
Headspace Help documents this path. Keep the current course offline. Drop older packs after you finish them.
Clear Headspace cache on Android
- Open your phone Settings > Apps > Headspace.
- Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
- Tap Clear cache.
Headspace Help lists cache clearing as a storage tip. Do not tap Clear storage / Clear data unless you mean to reset Headspace on this phone. That signs you out. Progress stays. Offline sessions must be downloaded again.
iPhone does not offer a separate Headspace cache button. Delete items in Downloads first, or offload the app in iPhone Storage if the system total stays high.
Reinstall the app if storage is still high
If you already cleaned media and Headspace still looks huge, a fresh install can clear leftover cache and temp files that are hard to reach by hand.
- Headspace Help says reinstall does not reset progress. Downloaded sessions do not come back. Download the current course again if you still want it offline.
- Delete the app from your phone.
- Restart your phone.
- Install Headspace again from the App Store or Google Play.
- Sign in and restore from backup if the app offers it.
This often frees a lot of space. You may need to download some media again after restore.
What to do next
After Headspace is lighter, check your photo library for duplicates and similar shots. That is what Dedupo is for.
