Free up app storage

Free up HIDIVE storage

HIDIVE stores anime you save under Downloads so episodes play offline. Watchlists and history stay on your HIDIVE account. Removing a download only deletes the file on this phone. Stay signed in to play offline titles.

See how much space HIDIVE is using

iPhone

  1. Open the iPhone Settings app.
  2. Tap General > iPhone Storage.
  3. Tap HIDIVE.

Android

  1. Open your phone Settings > Apps.
  2. Tap HIDIVE.
  3. Tap Storage or Storage and cache.

HIDIVE does not have a WhatsApp-style storage screen. Open Downloads from the menu to see titles on this phone.

Delete titles from Downloads

  1. Open HIDIVE and tap the three lines at the top left.
  2. Tap Downloads.
  3. Open a title and remove the download.

HIDIVE allows 20 downloaded titles at a time. After you press play on a downloaded title, you have 48 hours to finish it. The series stays on your watchlist and can be downloaded again later if it is still in the catalog.

Download over Wi-Fi

  1. Connect to Wi-Fi, then open an eligible episode and start the download.
  2. Open the menu > Downloads and wait until the title shows as ready.

Full seasons fill the 20-title cap quickly. Remove finished episodes before you queue more. New downloads over Wi-Fi keep cellular data unused.

Clear HIDIVE cache on Android

  1. Open your phone Settings > Apps > HIDIVE.
  2. Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
  3. Tap Clear cache.

Do not tap Clear storage / Clear data unless you mean to reset HIDIVE on this phone. That signs you out and removes local downloads. Watchlists and history stay on your account.

iPhone does not offer a separate HIDIVE cache button. Delete items under Downloads, or offload the app in iPhone Storage if the system total stays high.

Reinstall the app if storage is still high

If you already cleaned media and HIDIVE still looks huge, a fresh install can clear leftover cache and temp files that are hard to reach by hand.

  1. Downloads will need to be re-downloaded after you sign in. Your HIDIVE account keeps watchlists and history.
  2. Delete the app from your phone.
  3. Restart your phone.
  4. Install HIDIVE again from the App Store or Google Play.
  5. Sign in and restore from backup if the app offers it.

This often frees a lot of space. You may need to download some media again after restore.

What to do next

After HIDIVE is lighter, check your photo library for duplicates and similar shots. That is what Dedupo is for.
