Free up InShot storage
InShot keeps imported clips, drafts, stickers, and export files on this phone. There is no cloud project library like CapCut Cloud Space. Cache is safe to clear. Drafts are not.
See how much space InShot is using
iPhone
- Open the iPhone Settings app.
- Tap General > iPhone Storage.
- Tap InShot.
Android
- Open your phone Settings > Apps (or Apps and notifications).
- Tap InShot.
- Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
InShot does not have a WhatsApp-style Free up Storage screen. Drafts and cache are the bulk of the total.
Clear cache in the app
- Open InShot.
- Tap the gear (Settings) in the top right.
- Tap Clear cache and confirm (some versions show the size and a clean-up icon).
If that row is missing, use Android Clear cache instead. Cache is previews, fonts, music, and effect assets. Drafts stay.
Delete drafts you already exported
- On the InShot home screen, open Video (or the project list / My Story area).
- Tap ... on a finished project.
- Tap Delete. Confirm the export is already in Photos or Gallery first.
Each draft can keep full imported clips. Deleting finished projects is the main way to drop gigabytes.
Exports in Photos or Gallery
When you save a video, InShot writes a copy to Photos or Gallery. That file can exist twice: once in the draft, once in the library. After you confirm the library copy, delete the draft. Then clean duplicate exports in Photos, including Recently Deleted / Trash.
Clear InShot cache on Android
- Open your phone Settings > Apps > InShot.
- Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
- Tap Clear cache.
Do not tap Clear storage / Clear data unless you mean to wipe InShot. That deletes drafts and downloaded packs.
iPhone does not always show a cache button. Delete finished drafts, then offload InShot in iPhone Storage if the total stays high.
Reinstall the app if storage is still high
If you already cleaned media and InShot still looks huge, a fresh install can clear leftover cache and temp files that are hard to reach by hand.
- Export finished videos to Photos first. Drafts live on this phone and are lost if you delete the app.
- Delete the app from your phone.
- Restart your phone.
- Install InShot again from the App Store or Google Play.
- Sign in and restore from backup if the app offers it.
This often frees a lot of space. You may need to download some media again after restore.
What to do next
After InShot is lighter, check your photo library for duplicates and similar shots. That is what Dedupo is for.
