Free up Kick storage
Kick caches live streams and VODs so playback starts quickly. Kick Help does not document an in-app offline library or a WhatsApp-style Free up Storage screen. Follows stay on your account.
See how much space Kick is using
iPhone
- Open the iPhone Settings app.
- Tap General > iPhone Storage.
- Tap Kick.
Android
- Open your phone Settings > Apps (or Apps and notifications).
- Tap Kick.
- Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
The total is mostly the app plus stream cache. There is no official Downloads folder in the Kick app.
Clips and recordings on the phone
If you saved a clip, screenshot, or screen recording, that file is in Photos, Gallery, or Files. Delete it there, including Recently Deleted / Trash. Do not use unofficial VOD download sites as a storage cleanup step.
Lower playback quality
- While a stream or VOD is playing, open player quality settings if Kick shows them.
- Pick a lower resolution so less video is cached.
Clear Kick cache on Android
- Open your phone Settings > Apps > Kick.
- Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
- Tap Clear cache.
Do not tap Clear storage / Clear data unless you mean to reset Kick. That signs you out.
iPhone does not offer a separate Kick cache button. Offload or delete the app in iPhone Storage if the system total stays high.
Reinstall the app if storage is still high
If you already cleaned media and Kick still looks huge, a fresh install can clear leftover cache and temp files that are hard to reach by hand.
- Follows stay on Kick. There is no official offline library in the app.
- Delete the app from your phone.
- Restart your phone.
- Install Kick again from the App Store or Google Play.
- Sign in and restore from backup if the app offers it.
This often frees a lot of space. You may need to download some media again after restore.
What to do next
After Kick is lighter, check your photo library for duplicates and similar shots. That is what Dedupo is for.
