Free up app storage

Free up Kwai storage

Kwai caches videos you watch and keeps editor assets and drafts on this phone. Posted videos stay on your account. Kwai Support documents an in-app Delete Cache action.

See how much space Kwai is using

  1. Open Kwai and tap the profile tab (bottom right, Personal Page).
  2. Tap the gear (Settings) in the upper left.
  3. Tap Delete Cache. The size shown is cache on this phone.

For the full app total, also check iPhone Storage or Android Apps.

iPhone

  1. Open iPhone Settings > General > iPhone Storage > Kwai.

Android

  1. Open your phone Settings > Apps > Kwai > Storage or Storage and cache.

Delete cache

  1. Open Personal Page > Settings.
  2. Tap Delete Cache.
  3. Confirm.

This frees temporary files so Kwai runs smoother. Posted videos stay. Drafts usually stay unless you delete them separately.

Delete drafts

  1. Open the create / camera screen.
  2. Open Drafts.
  3. Delete clips you do not need. Save a copy to Photos first if you still want the video.

Stop saving copies to Gallery

When you export or post, turn off save to album if Kwai offers it. Delete extra copies in Photos or Gallery, including Recently Deleted / Trash.

Clear Kwai cache on Android

  1. Open your phone Settings > Apps > Kwai.
  2. Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
  3. Tap Clear cache.

Prefer Delete Cache inside Kwai first. Do not tap Clear storage / Clear data unless you mean to reset Kwai. That signs you out and can delete local drafts.

iPhone does not offer a separate Kwai cache button in system Settings. Use Delete Cache inside Kwai instead.

Reinstall the app if storage is still high

If you already cleaned media and Kwai still looks huge, a fresh install can clear leftover cache and temp files that are hard to reach by hand.

  1. Posted videos stay on Kwai. Save drafts you still want to Photos first.
  2. Delete the app from your phone.
  3. Restart your phone.
  4. Install Kwai again from the App Store or Google Play.
  5. Sign in and restore from backup if the app offers it.

This often frees a lot of space. You may need to download some media again after restore.

What to do next

After Kwai is lighter, check your photo library for duplicates and similar shots. That is what Dedupo is for.
