Free up League of Legends: Wild Rift storage

Wild Rift keeps champion models, splash art, and unused mode files on the phone. Rank, Wild Cores, and your Riot Account stay in the cloud. Riot documents Android cache clear and a reinstall warning. Official patch notes added optional resource packages. There is no WhatsApp-style Free up Storage button.

See how much space League of Legends: Wild Rift is using

iPhone

  1. Open the iPhone Settings app.
  2. Tap General > iPhone Storage.
  3. Tap Wild Rift.

Android

  1. Open your phone Settings > Apps (or Apps and notifications).
  2. Tap Wild Rift or League of Legends: Wild Rift.
  3. Tap Storage or Storage and cache.

Unused skin models and extra mode files are usually the extra space.

Remove unused resource packages

  1. Open Wild Rift and tap the gear (Settings).
  2. Open Downloads, resource download, or a similar tab if listed.
  3. Uninstall non-essential packages such as 3D champion skin models or 2D splash art when Wild Rift offers that control.

Official Wild Rift notes added an option to remove those non-essential download packages. Newer clients also offer on-demand resource download modes after a fresh install. Labels can vary. Those files can download again when you need them.

Repair vs cache

  1. Open Settings and look for Game Repair or Clear Game Cache if those rows are shown.
  2. Use cache clear for leftover files.
  3. Use Game Repair only when maps or models fail to load. Repair re-downloads files.

Riot's mobile store help says to clear cache on Android only, and not data. If you have not upgraded to a Riot Account, a reinstall can erase local progress Riot cannot recover.

Clear League of Legends: Wild Rift cache on Android

  1. Open your phone Settings > Apps > Wild Rift.
  2. Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
  3. Tap Clear cache.

Do not tap Clear storage / Clear data unless you mean to reset Wild Rift on this phone. Riot says that removes extra information saved on the device. Sign in with a Riot Account first. Rank and purchases stay on that account.

iPhone does not offer a separate Wild Rift cache button. Use the in-app steps on this page, or offload the app in iPhone Storage if the system total stays high.

Reinstall the app if storage is still high

If you already cleaned media and League of Legends: Wild Rift still looks huge, a fresh install can clear leftover cache and temp files that are hard to reach by hand.

  1. Upgrade to a Riot Account first. Riot cannot recover a guest install after delete. Champions and rank come back after you sign in. Extra resource packs download again when needed.
  2. Delete the app from your phone.
  3. Restart your phone.
  4. Install League of Legends: Wild Rift again from the App Store or Google Play.
  5. Sign in and restore from backup if the app offers it.

This often frees a lot of space. You may need to download some media again after restore.

What to do next

After League of Legends: Wild Rift is lighter, check your photo library for duplicates and similar shots. That is what Dedupo is for.
