Free up Life360 storage
Life360 is a location Circles app, not a photo library. Drive Journal, Place alerts, and location history live mostly with your Life360 account. Local space is cache and any photos you shared or saved from a Circle. Do not expect maps-style gigabytes unless the app cached a lot or you saved media.
See how much space Life360 is using
iPhone
- Open the iPhone Settings app.
- Tap General > iPhone Storage.
- Tap Life360.
Android
- Open your phone Settings > Apps.
- Tap Life360.
- Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
Delete Circle photos saved on this phone
- Open Photos or Gallery and delete Life360 images you saved.
- Empty Recently Deleted / Trash.
Location history and Drive Journal in the Life360 account are not a local video archive. Clearing them in the account is a privacy choice, not a reliable way to free phone storage.
Clear Life360 cache on Android
- Open your phone Settings > Apps > Life360.
- Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
- Tap Clear cache.
Do not tap Clear storage / Clear data unless you mean to sign out and reset Life360 on this phone. Circles stay on the account. You will need to sign in again.
iPhone does not offer a separate Life360 cache button. Offload or reinstall if iPhone Storage still lists it as large.
Reinstall the app if storage is still high
If you already cleaned media and Life360 still looks huge, a fresh install can clear leftover cache and temp files that are hard to reach by hand.
- Circles and location history stay in your Life360 account. You will sign in again after reinstall. This is not a media backup.
- Delete the app from your phone.
- Restart your phone.
- Install Life360 again from the App Store or Google Play.
- Sign in and restore from backup if the app offers it.
This often frees a lot of space. You may need to download some media again after restore.
What to do next
After Life360 is lighter, check your photo library for duplicates and similar shots. That is what Dedupo is for.
