Free up LinkedIn storage
LinkedIn caches feed images, videos, and profile data so the app opens fast. Posts, messages, and your profile stay on LinkedIn. LinkedIn does not offer a WhatsApp-style Free up Storage screen.
See how much space LinkedIn is using
iPhone
- Open the iPhone Settings app.
- Tap General > iPhone Storage.
- Tap LinkedIn.
Android
- Open your phone Settings > Apps (or Apps and notifications).
- Tap LinkedIn.
- Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
Delete drafts
- Open compose / start a post.
- If a draft appears, open it and delete it, or discard the post.
Published posts stay on your profile. Unfinished drafts can be local until they sync.
Saved copies in Photos or Gallery
If you saved a document, image, or video from a message or post, that copy is in Files, Photos, or Gallery. Delete it there. LinkedIn Saved posts are bookmarks on your account, not a local download folder.
Clear LinkedIn cache on Android
- Open your phone Settings > Apps > LinkedIn.
- Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
- Tap Clear cache.
Do not tap Clear storage / Clear data unless you mean to reset LinkedIn. That signs you out.
iPhone does not offer a separate LinkedIn cache button. Offload or delete the app in iPhone Storage if the system total stays high.
Reinstall the app if storage is still high
If you already cleaned media and LinkedIn still looks huge, a fresh install can clear leftover cache and temp files that are hard to reach by hand.
- Your profile, posts, and messages stay on LinkedIn.
- Delete the app from your phone.
- Restart your phone.
- Install LinkedIn again from the App Store or Google Play.
- Sign in and restore from backup if the app offers it.
This often frees a lot of space. You may need to download some media again after restore.
What to do next
After LinkedIn is lighter, check your photo library for duplicates and similar shots. That is what Dedupo is for.
