Free up Max storage

Max stores movies and episodes you save for offline viewing, plus extras and a watch cache so titles resume quickly. My List and profiles stay on your account. Removing a download only deletes the file on this phone.

See how much space Max is using

iPhone

Open the iPhone Settings app.
Tap General > iPhone Storage.
Tap Max.

Android

Open your phone Settings > Apps.
Tap Max.
Tap Storage or Storage and cache.

Max does not have a WhatsApp-style storage screen. Open Downloads to see the titles on this phone.

Delete downloads

Open Max and tap Downloads (or open your profile and tap Downloads).
Tap a title, then remove the download.

Movies and full seasons are the largest items. The title stays in My List and can be downloaded again later.

Change download settings

Open your profile and tap Settings or App Settings.
Open Downloads.
Set a lower download quality, and turn off cellular downloads if that toggle is shown.

Extras and bonus clips add cache while you watch. Finished downloads are still the files that free the most space.

Clear Max cache on Android

Open your phone Settings > Apps > Max.
Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
Tap Clear cache.

Do not tap Clear storage / Clear data unless you mean to reset Max on this phone. That signs you out and removes local downloads. My List and profiles stay on your account.

iPhone does not offer a separate Max cache button. Delete items under Downloads, or offload the app in iPhone Storage if the system total stays high.

Reinstall the app if storage is still high

If you already cleaned media and Max still looks huge, a fresh install can clear leftover cache and temp files that are hard to reach by hand.

Downloads will need to be re-downloaded after you sign in. Your account keeps My List, profiles, and watch history.
Delete the app from your phone.
Restart your phone.
Install Max again from the App Store or Google Play.
Sign in and restore from backup if the app offers it.

This often frees a lot of space. You may need to download some media again after restore.
