Free up Meitu storage
Meitu keeps drafts, stickers, and export files on this phone. There is no documented WhatsApp-style Free up Storage screen. Cache is safe to clear. Drafts can be local-only.
See how much space Meitu is using
iPhone
- Open the iPhone Settings app.
- Tap General > iPhone Storage.
- Tap Meitu.
Android
- Open your phone Settings > Apps (or Apps and notifications).
- Tap Meitu.
- Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
Drafts plus a pile of saved selfies in Photos are the usual reason the total looks large.
Clear cache in the app if listed
- Open Meitu and go to Me / Profile.
- Open the gear (Settings).
- Tap Clear cache if that row is there, and confirm.
If the row is missing, use Android Clear cache instead. Cache is previews, stickers, and effect assets. Drafts stay.
Export then delete drafts
- Open Draft / Works / recent projects (label depends on version).
- Open a project you are done with and save it to Photos if you still need it.
- Delete the draft from Meitu.
Unfinished edits can be local-only. Do not treat a Meitu login as a full project backup unless you confirmed that draft is in the cloud.
Exports in Photos or Gallery
Saved photos often land in a Meitu album or folder as a second copy. After you keep one file, delete the extra in Photos or Gallery, including Recently Deleted / Trash. Originals you imported stay in the camera roll until you delete them there.
Clear Meitu cache on Android
- Open your phone Settings > Apps > Meitu.
- Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
- Tap Clear cache.
Do not tap Clear storage / Clear data unless you mean to wipe Meitu. That can delete drafts and downloaded packs.
iPhone does not offer a separate Meitu cache button. Delete finished drafts, then offload Meitu in iPhone Storage if the total stays high.
Reinstall the app if storage is still high
If you already cleaned media and Meitu still looks huge, a fresh install can clear leftover cache and temp files that are hard to reach by hand.
- Export finished edits to Photos first. Drafts can be local-only and are lost if you delete the app.
- Delete the app from your phone.
- Restart your phone.
- Install Meitu again from the App Store or Google Play.
- Sign in and restore from backup if the app offers it.
This often frees a lot of space. You may need to download some media again after restore.
What to do next
After Meitu is lighter, check your photo library for duplicates and similar shots. That is what Dedupo is for.
