Free up app storage

Free up monday.com storage

monday.com boards live in your monday.com account. This phone stores board cache, update photos, and files you opened from an item. Clearing cache does not delete boards. Removing a file from an update does.

See how much space monday.com is using

iPhone

  1. Open the iPhone Settings app.
  2. Tap General > iPhone Storage.
  3. Tap monday.com (some versions say monday).

Android

  1. Open your phone Settings > Apps.
  2. Tap monday.com.
  3. Tap Storage or Storage and cache.

Board files and media

  1. Open an item.
  2. Open files / updates that include photos or PDFs.
  3. Remove a file from the item only if you mean to delete it from the board.

Board files are account data. Copies you saved to Files are user files on the phone. Clearing the app cache does not remove those copies.

Board cache

Recently opened boards keep images and item data on the device so they load fast. That is cache. The board stays in monday.com.

Clear monday.com cache on Android

  1. Open your phone Settings > Apps > monday.com.
  2. Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
  3. Tap Clear cache.

Do not tap Clear storage / Clear data unless you mean to sign out. Unsynced updates on this phone can be lost.

Reinstall the app if storage is still high

If you already cleaned media and monday.com still looks huge, a fresh install can clear leftover cache and temp files that are hard to reach by hand.

  1. Boards stay in your monday.com account. Wait until offline updates and file uploads finish. Files saved only to this phone are local.
  2. Delete the app from your phone.
  3. Restart your phone.
  4. Install monday.com again from the App Store or Google Play.
  5. Sign in and restore from backup if the app offers it.

This often frees a lot of space. You may need to download some media again after restore.

What to do next

After monday.com is lighter, check your photo library for duplicates and similar shots. That is what Dedupo is for.
