Free up app storage

Free up Nike Run Club storage

Nike Run Club stores GPS activities on your Nike account and can keep audio Guided Runs on this phone for offline use. Recorded runs stay after you sign in. Downloaded Guided Runs are the large local part.

See how much space Nike Run Club is using

iPhone

  1. Open the iPhone Settings app.
  2. Tap General > iPhone Storage.
  3. Tap Nike Run Club.

Android

  1. Open your phone Settings > Apps (or Apps and notifications).
  2. Tap Nike Run Club.
  3. Tap Storage or Storage and cache.

A stack of downloaded Guided Runs can outgrow the activity list. Nike does not document a WhatsApp-style Free up Storage screen.

Remove downloaded Guided Runs

  1. Open Nike Run Club and open a Guided Run you already downloaded.
  2. Scroll the run detail and look for Remove Run or remove download (label depends on version).
  3. Confirm. The download icon comes back if you want the audio later.

Nike documents that you can download Guided Runs for spots with poor service. Removing the download drops the audio file. Your logged run history stays on the Nike account.

Activity photos

  1. Open a finished run that has a photo.
  2. Photos you snapped on this phone also sit in Camera Roll.
  3. Delete the copy you do not need (in Nike Run Club, in Photos, or both).

The GPS activity stays if you only remove a photo. Clearing Android cache does not delete the activity list.

Clear Nike Run Club cache on Android

  1. Open your phone Settings > Apps > Nike Run Club.
  2. Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
  3. Tap Clear cache.

Do not tap Clear storage / Clear data unless you mean to reset Nike Run Club on this phone. That signs you out. Cloud activities stay. Guided Runs must be downloaded again.

iPhone does not offer a separate Nike Run Club cache button. Remove downloaded Guided Runs first, or offload the app in iPhone Storage if the system total stays high.

Reinstall the app if storage is still high

If you already cleaned media and Nike Run Club still looks huge, a fresh install can clear leftover cache and temp files that are hard to reach by hand.

  1. Recorded runs stay on your Nike account. Downloaded Guided Runs do not. Download audio again if you still want it offline.
  2. Delete the app from your phone.
  3. Restart your phone.
  4. Install Nike Run Club again from the App Store or Google Play.
  5. Sign in and restore from backup if the app offers it.

This often frees a lot of space. You may need to download some media again after restore.

What to do next

After Nike Run Club is lighter, check your photo library for duplicates and similar shots. That is what Dedupo is for.
