Free up app storage

Free up Ola storage

Ola caches map tiles, driver photos, and restaurant images if you use Ola Food. Rides, orders, and Ola Money stay on your Ola account. Maps and menu files are the local leftover.

See how much space Ola is using

iPhone

  1. Open the iPhone Settings app.
  2. Tap General > iPhone Storage.
  3. Tap Ola.

Android

  1. Open your phone Settings > Apps (or Apps and notifications).
  2. Tap Ola.
  3. Tap Storage or Storage and cache.

City maps plus food photos add up faster than ride receipts. Receipts live on the account.

Maps and store photo cache

Ola does not give a WhatsApp-style storage screen. Android Clear cache drops map tiles and restaurant photos. Past trips stay in your Ola ride history.

Chat files

Driver or delivery chat can include photos. Save anything you need for a dispute, then clear cache. Invoices stay on the account.

Clear Ola cache on Android

  1. Open your phone Settings > Apps > Ola.
  2. Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
  3. Tap Clear cache.

Do not tap Clear storage / Clear data unless you mean to reset Ola on this phone. That signs you out. History stays on the account.

iPhone does not offer a separate Ola cache button. Use the in-app steps on this page, or offload the app in iPhone Storage if the system total stays high.

Reinstall the app if storage is still high

If you already cleaned media and Ola still looks huge, a fresh install can clear leftover cache and temp files that are hard to reach by hand.

  1. Rides, orders, and Ola Money stay on your Ola account. Sign in again after reinstall.
  2. Delete the app from your phone.
  3. Restart your phone.
  4. Install Ola again from the App Store or Google Play.
  5. Sign in and restore from backup if the app offers it.

This often frees a lot of space. You may need to download some media again after restore.

What to do next

After Ola is lighter, check your photo library for duplicates and similar shots. That is what Dedupo is for.
