Free up app storage

Free up Pandora storage

Pandora keeps offline stations, playlists, and a playback cache so tracks start without data. Stations and Collection stay on your account. Removing offline files only deletes the copies on this phone.

See how much space Pandora is using

iPhone

  1. Open the iPhone Settings app.
  2. Tap General > iPhone Storage.
  3. Tap Pandora.

Android

  1. Open your phone Settings > Apps.
  2. Tap Pandora.
  3. Tap Storage or Storage and cache.

Pandora does not have a WhatsApp-style storage screen. Look in My Collection or station options for offline / downloaded stations.

Remove offline stations and playlists

  1. Open Pandora and go to My Collection or your stations list.
  2. Open a station or playlist that is marked offline or downloaded.
  3. Turn off the download / offline option.

The station stays in your account. Only the offline audio leaves this phone.

Change offline settings

  1. Open Pandora and tap your profile or the menu.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Open offline, downloads, or audio quality if listed.
  4. Lower download quality, and turn off automatic offline for stations you do not need on the phone.

Premium offline stations can fill several gigabytes if many stations are marked for offline.

Clear Pandora cache on Android

  1. Open your phone Settings > Apps > Pandora.
  2. Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
  3. Tap Clear cache.

Do not tap Clear storage / Clear data unless you mean to reset Pandora on this phone. That signs you out and removes local offline files. Stations and Collection stay on your account.

iPhone does not offer a separate Pandora cache button. Remove offline stations in the app, or offload Pandora in iPhone Storage if the system total stays high.

Reinstall the app if storage is still high

If you already cleaned media and Pandora still looks huge, a fresh install can clear leftover cache and temp files that are hard to reach by hand.

  1. Offline stations will need to be re-downloaded after you sign in. Your account keeps stations, Collection, and thumbs.
  2. Delete the app from your phone.
  3. Restart your phone.
  4. Install Pandora again from the App Store or Google Play.
  5. Sign in and restore from backup if the app offers it.

This often frees a lot of space. You may need to download some media again after restore.

What to do next

After Pandora is lighter, check your photo library for duplicates and similar shots. That is what Dedupo is for.
