Free up Peacock storage
Peacock stores movies and episodes you save for offline viewing, plus a watch cache so the next title starts quickly. Your list and profile stay on your account. Removing a download only deletes the file on this phone.
See how much space Peacock is using
iPhone
- Open the iPhone Settings app.
- Tap General > iPhone Storage.
- Tap Peacock.
Android
- Open your phone Settings > Apps.
- Tap Peacock.
- Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
Peacock does not have a WhatsApp-style storage screen. Open Downloads to see the titles on this phone.
Delete downloads
- Open Peacock and tap Downloads (sometimes under your profile or My List).
- Tap a title and remove the download.
Movies and full seasons are the largest items. The title stays on your account and can be downloaded again later.
Change download settings
- Open your profile and tap Settings.
- Open Downloads if listed.
- Set a lower download quality, and turn off cellular downloads if that toggle is shown.
New downloads will be smaller. Files already on the phone stay at the old quality until you remove them.
Clear Peacock cache on Android
- Open your phone Settings > Apps > Peacock.
- Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
- Tap Clear cache.
Do not tap Clear storage / Clear data unless you mean to reset Peacock on this phone. That signs you out and removes local downloads. My List stays on your account.
iPhone does not offer a separate Peacock cache button. Delete items under Downloads, or offload the app in iPhone Storage if the system total stays high.
Reinstall the app if storage is still high
If you already cleaned media and Peacock still looks huge, a fresh install can clear leftover cache and temp files that are hard to reach by hand.
- Downloads will need to be re-downloaded after you sign in. Your account keeps My List and watch history.
- Delete the app from your phone.
- Restart your phone.
- Install Peacock again from the App Store or Google Play.
- Sign in and restore from backup if the app offers it.
This often frees a lot of space. You may need to download some media again after restore.
What to do next
After Peacock is lighter, check your photo library for duplicates and similar shots. That is what Dedupo is for.
