Free up app storage

Free up PhotoRoom storage

PhotoRoom saves designs to your Space when you leave the editor or tap Save / Export. Cloud designs stay on the account. Local cache and files you exported to Photos are the phone leftover. PhotoRoom Help documents Designs and Delete, not a WhatsApp-style Free up Storage list.

See how much space PhotoRoom is using

  1. Open PhotoRoom and tap Content.
  2. Open your Space / workspace to see saved designs.

iPhone

  1. Open iPhone Settings > General > iPhone Storage > Photoroom.

Android

  1. Open your phone Settings > Apps > Photoroom > Storage or Storage and cache.

Delete designs you do not need

  1. Open Content and select the workspace.
  2. Tap ... on a design, then tap Delete.
  3. Or tap the Your Designs / Team Designs heading, tap Select, pick several, then Delete.

PhotoRoom Help says delete is permanent. A design in a folder is removed from the folder and from the workspace list. Export to Photos first if you still want a copy.

Exports in Photos or Files

Save / Export can write a PNG to Photos, Gallery, or Files and count against the export limit. Batch images are not saved as PhotoRoom designs. Delete extra exports in Photos, including Recently Deleted / Trash.

Unsynced local work

Designs that already sit in your Space come back after you sign in. Stay online until a new edit finishes saving. Drafts that never reached the Space can be local-only.

Clear PhotoRoom cache on Android

  1. Open your phone Settings > Apps > Photoroom.
  2. Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
  3. Tap Clear cache.

Do not tap Clear storage / Clear data unless you mean to reset PhotoRoom. Confirm keepers are in Content first.

iPhone does not offer a separate PhotoRoom cache button. Delete finished designs inside PhotoRoom, then offload the app if the system total stays high.

Reinstall the app if storage is still high

If you already cleaned media and PhotoRoom still looks huge, a fresh install can clear leftover cache and temp files that are hard to reach by hand.

  1. Designs that saved to your PhotoRoom Space stay there. Export keepers to Photos. Unsynced local edits can be lost.
  2. Delete the app from your phone.
  3. Restart your phone.
  4. Install PhotoRoom again from the App Store or Google Play.
  5. Sign in and restore from backup if the app offers it.

This often frees a lot of space. You may need to download some media again after restore.

What to do next

After PhotoRoom is lighter, check your photo library for duplicates and similar shots. That is what Dedupo is for.
