Free up app storage

Free up Pluto TV storage

Pluto TV is mostly live TV and on-demand streaming. It keeps a live watch cache, channel guide data, and sometimes recordings or saved on-demand files. Your account and favorites stay on the service. Clearing cache removes copies on this phone.

See how much space Pluto TV is using

iPhone

  1. Open the iPhone Settings app.
  2. Tap General > iPhone Storage.
  3. Tap Pluto TV.

Android

  1. Open your phone Settings > Apps.
  2. Tap Pluto TV.
  3. Tap Storage or Storage and cache.

Pluto TV does not have a WhatsApp-style storage screen. Long live sessions are usually the reason the app looks large.

Remove recordings or saved on-demand items

  1. Open Pluto TV and look in your profile, Library, or Recordings if that section exists on your version.
  2. Delete saved items you do not need on this phone.

Many versions do not offer full downloads. If you do not see recordings, skip this and clear cache.

Clear Pluto TV cache on Android

  1. Open your phone Settings > Apps > Pluto TV.
  2. Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
  3. Tap Clear cache.

Do not tap Clear storage / Clear data unless you mean to reset Pluto TV on this phone. That signs you out and wipes local files. Favorites stay on your account after you sign in.

iPhone does not offer a separate Pluto TV cache button. Offload or delete the app in iPhone Storage if the system total stays high.

Reinstall the app if storage is still high

If you already cleaned media and Pluto TV still looks huge, a fresh install can clear leftover cache and temp files that are hard to reach by hand.

  1. Live cache and any saved items will need to be fetched again after you sign in. Your account keeps favorites and history.
  2. Delete the app from your phone.
  3. Restart your phone.
  4. Install Pluto TV again from the App Store or Google Play.
  5. Sign in and restore from backup if the app offers it.

This often frees a lot of space. You may need to download some media again after restore.

What to do next

After Pluto TV is lighter, check your photo library for duplicates and similar shots. That is what Dedupo is for.
