Free up ShareChat storage

ShareChat caches videos and photos from the feed and keeps drafts on this phone. Posted content stays on your account. There is no WhatsApp-style Free up Storage screen.

See how much space ShareChat is using

iPhone

1. Open the iPhone Settings app.
2. Tap General > iPhone Storage.
3. Tap ShareChat.

Android

1. Open your phone Settings > Apps (or Apps and notifications).
2. Tap ShareChat.
3. Tap Storage or Storage and cache.

Clear cache in ShareChat if the button is there

1. Open ShareChat and go to your profile.
2. Open Settings.
3. Tap Clear cache or Storage if listed, then confirm.

If Settings has no cache row, use Android Clear cache or offload on iPhone.

Delete drafts

1. Open create / camera.
2. Open Drafts.
3. Delete clips you do not need. Save a copy to Gallery first if you still want the video.

Stop saving copies to Gallery

When you download or share a post, skip save unless you want a file on the phone. Delete extras in Photos or Gallery, including Recently Deleted / Trash.

Clear ShareChat cache on Android

1. Open your phone Settings > Apps > ShareChat.
2. Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
3. Tap Clear cache.

Do not tap Clear storage / Clear data unless you mean to reset ShareChat. That signs you out and can delete local drafts.

iPhone does not offer a separate ShareChat cache button. Use in-app Clear cache if present, or offload the app in iPhone Storage.

Reinstall the app if storage is still high

If you already cleaned media and ShareChat still looks huge, a fresh install can clear leftover cache and temp files that are hard to reach by hand.

1. Posted content stays on ShareChat. Save drafts you still want first.
2. Delete the app from your phone.
3. Restart your phone.
4. Install ShareChat again from the App Store or Google Play.
5. Sign in and restore from backup if the app offers it.

This often frees a lot of space. You may need to download some media again after restore.
