Free up Subway Surfers storage
Subway Surfers stores season city art, character models, and ad videos. It is not a 10 GB shooter, but a long-running install still leaves a season cache. Coins and unlocks stay on your SYBO account if you are signed in.
See how much space Subway Surfers is using
iPhone
- Open the iPhone Settings app.
- Tap General > iPhone Storage.
- Tap Subway Surfers.
Android
- Open your phone Settings > Apps (or Apps and notifications).
- Tap Subway Surfers.
- Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
There is no in-app repair screen. Cache and a linked account are the two things that matter.
What you can clear
Old season assets and ads are cache. Your current season progress is account data after you sign in with Apple, Google, or Facebook.
Use Android Clear cache. If the app is still large, reinstall after you confirm the account link.
Clear Subway Surfers cache on Android
- Open your phone Settings > Apps > Subway Surfers.
- Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
- Tap Clear cache.
Do not tap Clear storage / Clear data unless you mean to reset Subway Surfers on this phone. Unlinked guest progress can disappear. Linked progress stays on the account.
iPhone does not offer a separate Subway Surfers cache button. Use the in-app steps on this page, or offload the app in iPhone Storage if the system total stays high.
Reinstall the app if storage is still high
If you already cleaned media and Subway Surfers still looks huge, a fresh install can clear leftover cache and temp files that are hard to reach by hand.
- Sign in to SYBO (Apple, Google, or Facebook) first. Unlocks are usually in the cloud after that. Guest progress can stay only on this phone.
- Delete the app from your phone.
- Restart your phone.
- Install Subway Surfers again from the App Store or Google Play.
- Sign in and restore from backup if the app offers it.
This often frees a lot of space. You may need to download some media again after restore.
What to do next
After Subway Surfers is lighter, check your photo library for duplicates and similar shots. That is what Dedupo is for.
