Free up TeraBox storage
TeraBox keeps files in your TeraBox cloud. This phone stores downloaded files, Auto-backup photos still uploading, transfer leftovers, and cache. Clearing cache does not delete cloud files. Recycle bin deletes do.
See how much space TeraBox is using
iPhone
- Open the iPhone Settings app.
- Tap General > iPhone Storage.
- Tap TeraBox.
Android
- Open your phone Settings > Apps.
- Tap TeraBox.
- Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
Remove downloaded files
- Open TeraBox.
- Open Transfers or Download (label depends on version).
- Delete local downloads you do not need on this phone.
A download is a user file on the device. The cloud copy stays unless you also delete it in TeraBox Files.
Auto-backup
- Open TeraBox settings.
- Open Auto-backup / Backup.
- Turn it off if you do not want Camera items copied into TeraBox.
Confirm backup finished before you delete photos from Gallery. Do not delete the only unbacked-up copy.
Clear cache inside TeraBox
- Open TeraBox > Me / profile > Settings.
- Tap Clear cache if you see it.
Cache is previews and temp files. Downloads and Auto-backup originals are not cache.
Recycle bin
Deleted cloud files go to the Recycle bin. Emptying it permanently deletes them from TeraBox.
Clear TeraBox cache on Android
- Open your phone Settings > Apps > TeraBox.
- Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
- Tap Clear cache.
Do not tap Clear storage / Clear data unless you mean to sign out. Downloads and pending Auto-backup items on this phone can be lost.
Reinstall the app if storage is still high
If you already cleaned media and TeraBox still looks huge, a fresh install can clear leftover cache and temp files that are hard to reach by hand.
- Files already in TeraBox stay. Finish Auto-backup and Transfers first. Local Downloads are only on this phone unless you also uploaded them.
- Delete the app from your phone.
- Restart your phone.
- Install TeraBox again from the App Store or Google Play.
- Sign in and restore from backup if the app offers it.
This often frees a lot of space. You may need to download some media again after restore.
What to do next
After TeraBox is lighter, check your photo library for duplicates and similar shots. That is what Dedupo is for.
