Free up Trello storage
Trello boards live in your Trello account. This phone stores board cache, card attachments you opened, and offline leftovers. Clearing cache does not delete boards. Removing an attachment from a card does.
See how much space Trello is using
iPhone
- Open the iPhone Settings app.
- Tap General > iPhone Storage.
- Tap Trello.
Android
- Open your phone Settings > Apps.
- Tap Trello.
- Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
Card attachments
- Open a card.
- Open Attachments.
- Delete a file from the card only if you mean to remove it from the board.
Attachments are board data. Files you saved with Download also sit in Files or Downloads. Those copies are user files. Clearing Trello cache does not remove them.
Board cache
Recently opened boards keep images and card data on the phone so they open fast. That is cache. The board stays in Trello.
Clear Trello cache on Android
- Open your phone Settings > Apps > Trello.
- Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
- Tap Clear cache.
Do not tap Clear storage / Clear data unless you mean to sign out. Unsynced card edits on this phone can be lost.
Reinstall the app if storage is still high
If you already cleaned media and Trello still looks huge, a fresh install can clear leftover cache and temp files that are hard to reach by hand.
- Boards stay in your Trello account. Wait until offline card edits and attachment uploads finish. Downloads saved to this phone are local unless they are also on the card.
- Delete the app from your phone.
- Restart your phone.
- Install Trello again from the App Store or Google Play.
- Sign in and restore from backup if the app offers it.
This often frees a lot of space. You may need to download some media again after restore.
What to do next
After Trello is lighter, check your photo library for duplicates and similar shots. That is what Dedupo is for.
