Free up Truecaller storage
Truecaller caches caller photos, spam lists, and identification data so names appear fast. Your account and block list stay with Truecaller. Caller photos and spam cache are the local leftover.
See how much space Truecaller is using
iPhone
- Open the iPhone Settings app.
- Tap General > iPhone Storage.
- Tap Truecaller.
Android
- Open your phone Settings > Apps (or Apps and notifications).
- Tap Truecaller.
- Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
The identified-call database is cache. It is not your photo library.
Clear caller photo cache
- Open Truecaller and tap the menu or profile.
- Open Settings.
- Look for Clear cache or storage. Use it if listed.
- Otherwise use Android Clear cache.
Names take a moment to fill in again. Blocked numbers stay on the account after you sign in.
Clear Truecaller cache on Android
- Open your phone Settings > Apps > Truecaller.
- Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
- Tap Clear cache.
Do not tap Clear storage / Clear data unless you mean to reset Truecaller on this phone. That signs you out. The account stays. Local spam cache rebuilds.
iPhone does not offer a separate Truecaller cache button. Use the in-app steps on this page, or offload the app in iPhone Storage if the system total stays high.
Reinstall the app if storage is still high
If you already cleaned media and Truecaller still looks huge, a fresh install can clear leftover cache and temp files that are hard to reach by hand.
- Sign in first. Block list and Premium stay on your Truecaller account. Caller photos download again.
- Delete the app from your phone.
- Restart your phone.
- Install Truecaller again from the App Store or Google Play.
- Sign in and restore from backup if the app offers it.
This often frees a lot of space. You may need to download some media again after restore.
What to do next
After Truecaller is lighter, check your photo library for duplicates and similar shots. That is what Dedupo is for.
