Free up Twitch storage

Twitch caches live video, clips, and emotes so streams start quickly. The official mobile app is for watching and chat. It does not include a WhatsApp-style Free up Storage screen or a full offline download library.

iPhone

1. Open the iPhone Settings app.
2. Tap General > iPhone Storage.
3. Tap Twitch.

Android

1. Open your phone Settings > Apps (or Apps and notifications).
2. Tap Twitch.
3. Tap Storage or Storage and cache.

The number is mostly the app plus stream cache. Follows and chat stay on your Twitch account.

Clips and screen recordings on the phone

If you saved a clip, screenshot, or screen recording, that file is in Photos, Gallery, or Files, not inside a Twitch storage manager. Delete those copies there, including Recently Deleted / Trash.

Lower stream quality so less cache builds up

1. While a stream is playing, open the player settings (gear) if shown.
2. Pick a lower quality, or turn off auto quality if you are on a limited device.

This does not dump old cache, but it slows how fast new video files pile up.

Clear Twitch cache on Android

1. Open your phone Settings > Apps > Twitch.
2. Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
3. Tap Clear cache.

Do not tap Clear storage / Clear data unless you mean to reset Twitch. That signs you out.

iPhone does not offer a separate Twitch cache button. Offload or delete the app in iPhone Storage if the system total stays high.

Reinstall the app if storage is still high

If you already cleaned media and Twitch still looks huge, a fresh install can clear leftover cache and temp files that are hard to reach by hand.

1. Follows and chat stay on Twitch. Cache is local and rebuilds as you watch.
2. Delete the app from your phone.
3. Restart your phone.
4. Install Twitch again from the App Store or Google Play.
5. Sign in and restore from backup if the app offers it.

This often frees a lot of space. You may need to download some media again after restore.
