Free up Uber Eats storage

Uber Eats caches restaurant photos, menu shots, and promo videos. Orders and saved addresses stay on your Uber account. Menu image cache is the local leftover.

See how much space Uber Eats is using

iPhone

  1. Open the iPhone Settings app.
  2. Tap General > iPhone Storage.
  3. Tap Uber Eats.

Android

  1. Open your phone Settings > Apps (or Apps and notifications).
  2. Tap Uber Eats.
  3. Tap Storage or Storage and cache.

The feed of restaurant photos is most of the size.

Clear menu photo cache

Scrolling nearby restaurants stores a lot of images. Android Clear cache removes them. Your order history stays on the account.

Reorder photos

Reorder rows reload photos the next time you open them. Favorites stay on the account.

Clear Uber Eats cache on Android

  1. Open your phone Settings > Apps > Uber Eats.
  2. Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
  3. Tap Clear cache.

Do not tap Clear storage / Clear data unless you mean to reset Uber Eats on this phone. That signs you out. Orders stay on the Uber account.

iPhone does not offer a separate Uber Eats cache button. Use the in-app steps on this page, or offload the app in iPhone Storage if the system total stays high.

Reinstall the app if storage is still high

If you already cleaned media and Uber Eats still looks huge, a fresh install can clear leftover cache and temp files that are hard to reach by hand.

  1. Trip history and payment methods stay on your account. Sign in again after reinstall.
  2. Delete the app from your phone.
  3. Restart your phone.
  4. Install Uber Eats again from the App Store or Google Play.
  5. Sign in and restore from backup if the app offers it.

This often frees a lot of space. You may need to download some media again after restore.

What to do next

After Uber Eats is lighter, check your photo library for duplicates and similar shots. That is what Dedupo is for.
