Free up VN storage

VN stores drafts, imported clips, templates, and export leftovers on this phone. VN Help says projects do not sync to the cloud when you sign in. Cache is safe to clear. Local drafts are not.

See how much space VN is using

1. On the Projects screen, tap +, then Clean up. Or open Profile > Settings > Clean up Storage.
2. Read the sizes next to Temporary Data, project materials, and Project Trash.

iPhone

1. Open iPhone Settings > General > iPhone Storage > VN.

Android

1. Open your phone Settings > Apps > VN > Storage or Storage and cache.

Clear temporary data

1. Open Clean up Storage.
2. Tap Clean up next to Temporary Data.

VN Help says Temporary Data can be cleaned without worry. Do not clean Project Materials unless you accept that undo history and unused clips in those projects are gone.

Back up, then delete drafts

1. On a project, tap ... > Share Project and save the project file to Files, Drive, or Dropbox.
2. Tap ... again > Move to Trash.
3. Open Profile > Project Trash, select the draft, and tap Delete.

Drafts can be local-only. Signing in does not back them up. Export the finished video to Photos as well if you still want the movie.

Exports in Photos or Gallery

Finished videos often save to Photos or Gallery as a second copy. Delete extra exports there, including Recently Deleted / Trash. Then empty VN Project Trash.

Clear VN cache on Android

1. Open your phone Settings > Apps > VN.
2. Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
3. Tap Clear cache only.

Prefer Clean up Storage inside VN first. Do not tap Clear storage / Clear data unless you mean to wipe VN. That deletes local drafts.

iPhone does not offer a separate VN cache button. Use Clean up Storage inside VN. Offload only after you share keepers as project files.

Reinstall the app if storage is still high

If you already cleaned media and VN still looks huge, a fresh install can clear leftover cache and temp files that are hard to reach by hand.

1. Share important projects as VN project files first. Drafts live on this phone and are lost if you uninstall. Signing in does not restore them.
2. Delete the app from your phone.
3. Restart your phone.
4. Install VN again from the App Store or Google Play.
5. Sign in and restore from backup if the app offers it.

This often frees a lot of space. You may need to download some media again after restore.
