Free up VSCO storage

VSCO keeps edits, imports, and exported copies on this phone. Published VSCO Studio / profile posts sit on your account. VSCO does not have a WhatsApp-style Free up Storage screen.

See how much space VSCO is using

iPhone

  1. Open the iPhone Settings app.
  2. Tap General > iPhone Storage.
  3. Tap VSCO.

Android

  1. Open your phone Settings > Apps (or Apps and notifications).
  2. Tap VSCO.
  3. Tap Storage or Storage and cache.

Export then delete local edits you do not need

  1. Open VSCO and go to your studio / library of edits.
  2. Open a photo you are done with.
  3. Export or save it to Photos if you still want a copy.
  4. Delete the edit from VSCO so the working file leaves the app.

Exports often land in Photos or Gallery as a second file. If you already exported, you can delete the VSCO studio copy. Then clean duplicates in Photos.

Stop saving extra copies to Photos

When you export, save once. Delete extra exports in Photos or Gallery, including Recently Deleted / Trash. VSCO presets and recipes in your account are not the same as these local files.

Clear VSCO cache on Android

  1. Open your phone Settings > Apps > VSCO.
  2. Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
  3. Tap Clear cache.

Do not tap Clear storage / Clear data unless you mean to reset VSCO. That can delete local edits that never exported.

iPhone does not offer a separate VSCO cache button. Export keepers, then offload or delete the app in iPhone Storage if the total stays high.

Reinstall the app if storage is still high

If you already cleaned media and VSCO still looks huge, a fresh install can clear leftover cache and temp files that are hard to reach by hand.

  1. Published VSCO work stays on your account. Export remaining edits to Photos first. Local studio files can be lost.
  2. Delete the app from your phone.
  3. Restart your phone.
  4. Install VSCO again from the App Store or Google Play.
  5. Sign in and restore from backup if the app offers it.

This often frees a lot of space. You may need to download some media again after restore.

What to do next

After VSCO is lighter, check your photo library for duplicates and similar shots. That is what Dedupo is for.
