Free up Wattpad storage

Wattpad stores stories you add to the Offline List so they open without a network. Library, Reading Lists, and your place in a story stay on your Wattpad account. Remove from Offline List only deletes the local copy. It does not remove the story from Library.

See how much space Wattpad is using

iPhone

Open the iPhone Settings app.
Tap General > iPhone Storage.
Tap Wattpad.

Android

Open your phone Settings > Apps.
Tap Wattpad.
Tap Storage or Storage and cache.

Wattpad does not have a WhatsApp-style storage screen. Open Library and check Available Offline for stories on this phone.

Remove stories from the Offline List

Open Wattpad and tap Library.
Find a story in Available Offline, or look for the downloaded mark next to a cover.
Tap Remove from Offline List (then OK on Android).

The story moves to Other Stories in Library. You can add it back later over a connection. Free accounts have an offline limit. Premium can keep unlimited stories offline, which is why a long Library can fill the phone.

Stop unused stories from sitting offline

In Library, start with finished stories and ones you are not reading this week.
Remove those from the Offline List first.
Leave only current reads in Available Offline.

Wattpad Originals you added to Library can stay available offline without counting toward the free limit. Do not tap Remove from Library unless you also want the title gone from the account list.

Clear Wattpad cache on Android

Open your phone Settings > Apps > Wattpad.
Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
Tap Clear cache.

Do not tap Clear storage / Clear data unless you mean to reset Wattpad on this phone. That signs you out and removes local offline copies. Library and Reading Lists stay on your account.

iPhone does not offer a separate Wattpad cache button. Remove items from the Offline List, or offload the app in iPhone Storage if the system total stays high.

Reinstall the app if storage is still high

If you already cleaned media and Wattpad still looks huge, a fresh install can clear leftover cache and temp files that are hard to reach by hand.

Offline stories will need to be added again after you sign in. Your Wattpad account keeps Library, Reading Lists, and reading position.
Delete the app from your phone.
Restart your phone.
Install Wattpad again from the App Store or Google Play.
Sign in and restore from backup if the app offers it.

This often frees a lot of space. You may need to download some media again after restore.
