Free up app storage

Free up WEBTOON storage

WEBTOON stores Originals episodes you save under Downloads so comics open offline. Subscriptions and read history stay on your WEBTOON account. Removing a download only deletes the file on this phone. Downloaded episodes stay on the device for 30 days.

See how much space WEBTOON is using

iPhone

  1. Open the iPhone Settings app.
  2. Tap General > iPhone Storage.
  3. Tap WEBTOON.

Android

  1. Open your phone Settings > Apps.
  2. Tap WEBTOON.
  3. Tap Storage or Storage and cache.

WEBTOON does not have a WhatsApp-style storage screen. Open MY > My Series > Downloads to see episodes on this phone.

Delete downloads in My Series

  1. Open WEBTOON and tap MY at the bottom.
  2. Open My Series, then Downloads.
  3. Remove episodes you already finished or no longer need offline.

Only some Originals can be downloaded. Fast Pass and Ad Pass episodes are not included. Each episode can be downloaded once per account. The series stays in My Series and can still be read online.

Download over Wi-Fi

  1. Connect to Wi-Fi, then open an Originals series.
  2. Tap the download arrow at the top right of the episode list, or the menu on an episode.
  3. Choose episodes and start the download.

Color pages add up faster than text stories. Start with finished series in Downloads before you queue more. Reading a downloaded episode does not use data.

Clear WEBTOON cache on Android

  1. Open your phone Settings > Apps > WEBTOON.
  2. Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
  3. Tap Clear cache.

Do not tap Clear storage / Clear data unless you mean to reset WEBTOON on this phone. That signs you out and can drop local downloads and unsynced read history. Subscriptions stay on your account.

iPhone does not offer a separate WEBTOON cache button. Delete items under Downloads, or offload the app in iPhone Storage if the system total stays high.

Reinstall the app if storage is still high

If you already cleaned media and WEBTOON still looks huge, a fresh install can clear leftover cache and temp files that are hard to reach by hand.

  1. Downloads will need to be re-downloaded after you sign in (an episode can only be downloaded once per account). Your account keeps subscriptions. Let read history finish syncing before you log out.
  2. Delete the app from your phone.
  3. Restart your phone.
  4. Install WEBTOON again from the App Store or Google Play.
  5. Sign in and restore from backup if the app offers it.

This often frees a lot of space. You may need to download some media again after restore.

What to do next

After WEBTOON is lighter, check your photo library for duplicates and similar shots. That is what Dedupo is for.
