Free up Weibo storage

Weibo caches feed photos and videos on this phone. Posts stay on your account. The app includes Clear cache in Settings, and some versions can auto-clear every few days.

See how much space Weibo is using

Open Weibo and tap Me (我).
Tap the gear (Settings / 设置).
Tap Clear cache (清除缓存). The size next to it is cache on this phone.

iPhone

Open iPhone Settings > General > iPhone Storage and tap Weibo.

Android

Open your phone Settings > Apps > Weibo > Storage or Storage and cache.

Weibo does not have a WhatsApp-style Free up Storage chat list.

Clear cache

Open Me > Settings (设置).
Tap Clear cache (清除缓存).
Confirm.

If you see Allow auto-clear every 3 days (or similar), you can turn that on so cache does not grow back as fast.

Delete drafts

Open compose.
Open Drafts (草稿箱) if Weibo lists it under Me or the compose screen.
Delete drafts you do not need.

Published posts stay on Weibo. Drafts with large videos can sit on this phone until you delete them.

Saved copies in Photos or Gallery

If you saved a Weibo image or video to the album, delete that copy in Photos or Gallery, including Recently Deleted / Trash.

Clear Weibo cache on Android

Open your phone Settings > Apps > Weibo.
Tap Storage or Storage and cache.
Tap Clear cache.

Prefer Clear cache inside Weibo first. Do not tap Clear storage / Clear data unless you mean to reset Weibo. That signs you out.

iPhone does not offer a separate Weibo cache button in system Settings. Use Settings > Clear cache inside Weibo instead.

Reinstall the app if storage is still high

If you already cleaned media and Weibo still looks huge, a fresh install can clear leftover cache and temp files that are hard to reach by hand.

Posts stay on Weibo. Save drafts you still want before you reinstall.
Delete the app from your phone.
Restart your phone.
Install Weibo again from the App Store or Google Play.
Sign in and restore from backup if the app offers it.

This often frees a lot of space. You may need to download some media again after restore.
